LocationThe Advanced Manufacturing Hub is located immediately adjacent to Junction 6 of the M6 with excellent access to the A34, A38 and A5127, main arterial routes in and out of Birmingham City Centre which is less than 3 miles south west of the site. Aston train station, less than a 1⁄4 mile from the site, provides a direct train service into Birmingham New Street in 7 minutes. Birmingham Airport is approximately 12 miles from the site.
The Advanced Manufacturing HubThe Advanced Manufacturing Hub is a joint initiative between Birmingham City Council and Homes England aimed at the advanced manufacturing sector. Birmingham already has the largest number of firms within the advanced manufacturing sector in the UK. The 20 hectare (49 acre) site is designated a Regional Investment site and can accommodate individual buildings from 1,394 sq m (15,000 sq ft) up to 14,400 sq m (155,000 sq ft). Note. Plots 3 and 4 fall outside of the LDO and will be subject to a planning application.
Planning StatusThe site benefits from a Local Development Order which removes the need for occupiers to apply for a conventional planning permission. The Local Development Order permits development for manufacturing, light industrial and R&D uses across the site. A formal planning consent can be issued in a number of weeks at a relatively minimal cost.
Significant highway improvement works have now been completed providing excellent access direct from the Lichfield Road.
